I know that it has been a long time since I have done an update on the progress of the series. Editing has gone slower then I wanted, but now that summer is in full swing and the kids are done with school, it should be completed faster.

But I will let you in on a secret, (How I love them!). I have not just been editing Alchemist, but the Unnamed as well. I have been bouncing between the two, reading one and going right into the next. So after all those words, what I am really saying is, Alchemist and the Unnamed will be released back to back.

So although I have kept you waiting, that wait will be well worth it:)

SO I have a confession to make. I have not done any editing on Alchemist. Not a single bit:(

Not because I have been lazy, but because instead the unnnamed has been taking up all the time. I mentioned before that Zanas, or should I say Zanass, was impatiently waiting for her side to now me told. And as of today the unnamed is finished.

Yes, I just wrote that. Book 3 and Book 4 are now complete in the Alwahi Series. **phew** I tell you it has been a busy couple of months, and I am very excited for you all to see what it has created.

I gave you a song a while back to give you a hint at Alchemist, I will do the same for the unnamed (I'm close to a name and will blog about it soon).

Here we go, so longing, so filled with betrayal. Exactly what Book 4 will be.

Hello all, sorry it has been a week or so since my last post. Took a break from writing for a minute. Considering I wrote 90,000 words in four weeks, and 40,000 of that in one week alone... yes a little time out was needed. But I will be tackling it again this weekend, and finish the last 20,000 words that I have left of the unnammed.

Any secrets that I want to tell you? How about that double rr name I talked about last time. Maybe a little hint at anticipated romance for Valentines Day???

His name is Adrrian, a Pursuer from the above, and an intoxicating adversary...

But then that raises the question, "Just whose adversary is he?"

This weekend was very eventful and I am sad to see it go. I decided that I would take a break from Alchemist, and start editing on Monday. From there, I'm looking at a 10 week schedule, give or take a few weeks, depending on how dedicated/lazy I get once the editing begins.

I may have taken a break from Alchemist, but I used the last two days to write, some pretty awesome stuff, on book 4 in the series (still not officially named) which returns the main character of Zanas. It has been so much fun writing from the Pursuer perspective again, such a comfortable homey feeling reminding me of the love that I have for the individual characters.

The bold, brave Zanas.

The ever tempting Dressdon

The full of life Ressna

The devil in blonde Desstina

The always fun twins Tress & Fless

And some new characters... probably my favorite part of this book so far.

I had a character, but I didn't have a name for him, I planned out the entire story arc in detail on Friday, (6 pages of notes that promise for the longest book so far in the series), and "he" appeared in so many parts as just a ________. I thought about it for days, thinking of names and discarding them. And then I started talking about it to my husband and I realized I could not figure it out because he was not supposed to have the double ss of the Pursuers of the beneath, but a double rr of the Pursuers of the above. Ahhh and this added a whole new lovely piece.

But that's enough secrets for the day, ending with a 13,500 word count for "the unnamed".

Have you ever become so consumed by something that it haunted you every moment of the day? Alchemist has been that current obsession. So much so, that I have been waking up around 4am every morning so I can write before everyone else wakes up. And three weeks since I began to write it, it is finished.

Yes you read that right. FINISHED. My estimate for the release is summer of this year, but it is looking more like spring...shhhh. That's a secret for now. The release date will remain for summer officially.

But the obsession will not stop there, I can already tell. Zanas is demanding that now her side be told, cutting into my thoughts with her story while I was trying to wrap up Alchemist.

Oh and I can tell you, she is going to come back in with a bang.

One more thing to leave you with, curious as to the tone of Alchemist? This song has heavily influenced it, and there is even a part on the book that pays homage:

"...just her and the stars on her skin, the kiss so bright and
everlasting.".

It has been a while since I have updated on Alchemist. The progress on this book has been extraordinarily fast, and as of today I am now 40,000 words into the story, with about three or four more chapters left to write.

Why has it gone so fast? I can honestly say that Syreena has turned into my favorite character of the Alwahi series. She has the strong noble character of Zanas, but she is also a wounded soul, something that I think will call to people far more than the other two characters in the series so far.

I may even love this character enough to give her something that I once thought only reserved for Zanas. Yup, I just might...

Look at the cover! I mentioned before that the other one was just a tease. Well here she is in all her glory. Now this is Syreena.

Sixteen-year-old Zanas
is beautiful, athletic and fierce. Qualities that have made her feel as though
she has never really belonged in her life of wealth and luxury. But everything
is about to change, when her plane plummets into the ocean, killing almost
everyone on board.

She is left with only her sister, trapped on a mysterious island, both sinister
and captivating. Zanas leads the survivors deep into the forest, where hidden
dangers could mean their demise with every step.

Taken in by the people of Alwahi, Zanas finds that she can speak their
language, and that their Goddess seems to call to her heart. Her newly formed
world is torn apart, when her sister is kidnapped by the people of the beneath,
and she must follow her deep below the surface, into a magical world that she
never believed could ever exist.

Follow Zanas on her journey as she fights to claim her heart and her spirit.
Where the fierce Pursuers of the beneath will ask her to give them everything,
and where she will find her death or her destiny.

Three clans, powerful and unique, this is the journey of the Pursuer...

This past week has been great. I am so happy to be back to writing, and there really is something about Syreena (Alchemist) that is very reminiscent of Zanas, but in a far darker way. Unlike Zanas, Syreena didn't grow up in a happy cherished life, no, Syreena grew up in the darkened shadows of the underground.

What do we have to look forward to from the Alchemist clan? Both Pursuer and Dreamer left them vague. Rightly so, they keep mainly to themselves, raised entirely from birth within an Alchemist sub-world.

What kind of personalities do the Alchemists have? Duty first and foremost. Their entire existence is to become one with the greater hive mind, in a sense hiding their unique personalities, always beneath the Alchemist hood. But there are other reasons to don the cloak, mutations not always getting desirous results.

What part does the Alchemist play in the overall story line, series wise that is? We have something brewing, something from the very beginning. Each clan plays a part, some on the side of "good" some on the side of "bad", although the lines between the two are always blurred in the Alwahi universe. We will have to wait and see what role the Alchemist clan will play in the bigger picture.

Will we see any other clans in Alchemist? Each book in the series has given you a glimpse into the other clans. Dreamer had interactions between both the Pursuers, as well as between Syreena and Asenya. Alchemist is no different, the Pursuers always seem to play a big part in the overall story line of each book and that will continue. The Pursuers in fact, will have quite a large role in Alchemist, though we probably wont see very much, if at all of Zanas. Hmmmmmm.... then what am I saying?? Of course, I'm speaking of Dressdon of course:)

But maybe I have said too much already, lol;) I am currently 20,000 words into Alchemist, and I wish I had more time to devote to it and it would be even further along. But it can get hectic with my chickens (children), and sometimes mommy has to come before author:) But all in all, Alchemist is moving at a steady rate....oh and it's sooooo good:D

I am just over 8,000 words into Alchemist, and really loving it. It is totally different than the other clans, so dark and mysterious.

The cover is up, as you may have noticed, but its not quite finished yet. I need to change something, put for now it is a teaser of what is to come.

Do you remember when I mentioned I might be creating a continuation to Pursuer? (Read Here) Well that idea is now officially set in stone. I have also spent the last few days mapping out the entire story arch of all the books and what part each one will play. Zanas will continue in the fourth book of the Alwahi Series (Unnamed), with Asenya returning for the grand finale (Dark Queen), the fifth and final book.

Oh and smashwords is "grinding" right now. Oh the horrors of formatting to smashwords, but that is another blog all together... lol. But I am working diligently towards getting Dreamer available in all formats. I will update when it is.
Hello all:) I thought I would just update on the progress of Dreamer. I finished the final run-through of Dreamer yesterday, however, since it was done so quickly I am running through it one more final time. This will in no way put the release of Dreamer back.

I am anticipating it being ready for release by the end of next week! Yup you read that right. I figured it would be done earlier than the end of January, but I thought I would give myself some extra working room. So, if all continues as planned, you should have Dreamer in your hands within 8 days...

Just finished the re-read of Pursuer, which was beneficial in multiple ways. I found a tiny inconsistency between Pursuer and Dreamer, and I was also able to go through Pursuer again and clean up some pesky typos. So double score, Pursuer is uploaded to amazon in its cleaner form (once Amazon approves the changes), and Dreamer is one step closer to debut.

The time is just ticking away now....

Oh hey, and guess what!? Pursuer is currently listed as #2 in the free action adventure/ fantasy, and #191 in the overall free category!

So, I'm gearing up towards reading Pursuer sometime this weekend. And I started to dwell in the world of the Pursuer in my mind, thoughts melding themselves together. I have read more than one review stating that they wished Dreamer was about the Pursuers and Zanas, did I mention Dressdon?

Although the Pursuers do have a part in Dreamer, a major part to be frank, the story was always meant to be Asenya's, just as Pursuer was always meant to be Zanas's story. I have also seen reviews wondering why there was little interaction between the two sisters in Pursuer. That is because they each have their OWN story to tell. Just as Alchemist will be from a third point of view, and where finally we will find out why the girl's were brought to the world of Alwahi. And where we discover the Alchemist's were the only clan that truly had the answers to begin with.

But this method of the larger story has given me a unique opportunity. Until the fourth book, when all three main characters will share the story (I anticipate this book to be quite large, lol), the characters only have their stories told during their book. Each book in the series will bring us forward in time, until we are back with all three in the fourth book.

My point, that I seem to be taking a long time to get to, is that we will not "really" see Zanas again until the fourth book, when once again the story will be told from her point of view. So there will be a time gap...mmmmhmmm... and I could certainly fill that gap with a second Pursuer book.

This would be a spin off, so to speak, and would not need to be read in the main story arc (Pursuer, Dreamer, Alchemist, Unamed 4). It would be for the lovers of the Pursuer clan that just want to know what happened from Zanas's point of view, from the end of the first book until the beginning of the fourth book.

If this book was to become reality, it would be released the same time as Alchemist or soon after.

Just a tantalizing thought I have been having over and over that I thought I would share...

The last few days have been filled with Dreamer. Reading, editing, writing and most of all DREAMING. It is exciting to be so close to finally putting the next part of the Alwahi series forward, and most of all tell Asenya's side. I think I love her more every time I read her story, she evolves in some way, one chapter tweaked, one deleted all together and more still added...

I'm am also excited to start on Alchemist, because honestly that is the best part, writing. I have the skeleton of Alchemist sitting in my filing cabinet just waiting to become whole. The entire first chapter has been written in my head since the beginning of Dreamer. A whole new chapter awaits...

But back to Dreamer... I want to do a read-through of Pursuer to check for inconsistencies, and then one final run through of Dreamer. My goal is the end of January, and honestly with the new fire that has been driving me day and night, I see no reason that it wont happen.

Happy for the New Year!

Monique Morganhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12151711739985222903noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6183271545833698960.post-22425344469273637102013-07-26T17:07:00.000-06:002013-07-26T17:24:46.103-06:00Hello Again:)

It has been a very long time. I know. Dreamer has not been released, and I apologize to everyone waiting impatiently to for it to officially come out.

Dreamer has been very close for a while now. Just halfway through on the final edit. But something bothered me. It wasn't as long as I wanted, something felt like it was missing. So I put it aside. Life became extremely busy, and other things took priority. I home school my children, and approaching AP exams and ending of the school year was everything on my radar.

Then came summer:) No school for the kids, and FINALLY a break. So I kept at the break longer than I should have, but I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason. It came to me in the bath (weird I know, but it did), it just hit me, like this is what was missing!

I thought one more chapter and I will have what I want. Well, three chapters later and about six thousand words in about 24 hours. Yes I am ready to finally proclaim that I am working on Dreamer again. And it will be done soon. When? An exact date? I have found that I am bad with that, so my answer, "when it is ready".

But don't worry the wait shouldn't be much longer, and I promise it will be worth it.

**Note
So apparently in my hiatus, my web domain expired, and someone purchased moniquemorgan.com that now wants to sell it back to me for $495. Wonderful. But besides the fact, I refuse to pay for it. I will be going back to the original domain moniquemorganbooks.blogspot.com. Monique Morganhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12151711739985222903noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6183271545833698960.post-48725345175844888562013-04-05T04:00:00.000-06:002013-04-05T04:00:00.555-06:00Forsaken by Kristen Day

Who among us will cast aside a comfortable existence and risk death to follow a dream?

A world kept peaceful for a thousand years by the magic of the ruling vicars. But a threat lurks from a violent past. Wizards from the darkness have hidden their sorcery in a place called the keep and left a trail of clues that have never been solved.

Nathaniel has grown up longing for more but unwilling to challenge the vicars. Until his friend Thomas is taken for a teaching, the mysterious coming-of-age ritual. Thomas returns but with his dreams ripped away. When Orah is taken next, Nathaniel tries to rescue her and ends up in the prisons of Temple City. There he meets the first keeper of the ancient clues. The urge to write first struck when working on a newsletter at a youth encampment in the woods of northern Maine. It may have been the night when lightning flashed at sunset followed by northern lights rippling after dark. Or maybe it was the newsletter's editor, a girl with eyes the color of the ocean. But he was inspired to write about the blurry line between reality and the fantastic.

Using two fingers and lots of white-out, he religiously typed five pages a day throughout college and well into his twenties. Then life intervened. He paused to raise two sons and pursue a career, in the process becoming a well-known entrepreneur in the software industry, founding several successful companies. When he found time again to daydream, the urge to write returned. There Comes a Prophet is his first novel in this new stage of life.

Once upon a
time, an attorney from Texas moved to the U.S. Virgin Islands, bought a
rainforest house, and learned to believe in everyday magic. She was me, and I
fell in love, with the house, with the islands, and with the people I met
there. If fiction is life without the boring parts, then it is no surprise that
when I started writing novels, they set themselves in the never-boring USVI.

But it was
more than just the house, islands, and people themselves that set the story of
Katie & Annalise in motion in Saving Grace. It was a particular night at
that particular house in the USVI, a night that proved my island-born husband
right when he told little-ole-doubting me, “Pamela, you’ve got a jumbie in your
house.” A jumbie as in a voodoo spirit? “Yeah, right.”

Or at least
that’s what I thought until the night with the money. Our family was moving to
Texas, and Eric was the last one of us left on-island. He had held an advertised
liquidation sale that day. He ended the sale with $18,000 in his pocket, and a
lot of the wrong kind of attention. Eric went to our house, Estate Annaly, to
spend his last night there, all by himself except for the money. Cash is
attractive anywhere, and especially in socioeconomically disadvantaged
communities where there are few realistic consequences for law breaking, like
St. Croix.

Now, Annaly
was up in a remote part of the rainforest on St. Croix. There were no
streetlights, the house had no phones, and the police were a half hour away, if
you could get hold of them by cell phone, and if they chose to come at all when
called. In addition, the house was only partially completed. In fact, we didn’t
have locks on most of the ground floor windows, and a 10-year old child could
break in. And had. More than once.

We’d always
felt safe at Annaly, though, in part because of our six dogs, but also because
of that force I couldn’t explain but that Eric called our jumbie. Plus, we had
a flare gun, a machete, and an aluminum baseball bat. We were practically an
army unto ourselves. Well, maybe not quite. But we were as ready as we could be
for intruders on an island where I was early-on warned that, as a Continental,
I should get an unmarked gun, and, if my home was invaded, shoot to kill and
dump the body offshore. Horrifying, right? But in the eyes of local justice, a
Continental was rarely justified in home- or self-defense. Seriously. I opted
against the gun, but I never forgot the warning.

After his
liquidation sale, Eric was awakened in the middle of the night by a car pulling
up outside the house. No visitor is a good visitor at that hour, and Eric heard
multiple male visitor’s voices. Eric sprinted to the top floor of the house
with the money and his “weapons” and barricaded himself into a bedroom. Then he
called me in the States on a really bad cell phone connection. He felt sure the
men would not only get in, but that he was at their mercy. He wanted to hear my
voice, just in case. The call dropped almost as soon as we’d said hello to each
other, and I hung up with no idea of what was happening.

whipped up and the house shook. Eric heard the dogs barking and growling at the
visitors, but the men advanced anyway. They banged on the doors and shouted.
They pounded on the small panes of the windows. They howled with rage and money
lust, but they couldn’t get in the wailing house. Finally, they left. Despite
all odds, Eric was safe. Shaken, but safe.

it was hard for me to argue against the existence of Eric’s jumbie. I looked

known for “having it all” which really means she has a little too much of
everything, but loves it: writer, mediocre endurance athlete (triathlon,

business owner, recovering employment attorney and human resources executive,
investigator, consultant, and musician.
Pamela lives with her husband Eric and two high school-aged kids, plus
